CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme

NEW

The CITB – Site Environmental Safety Training Scheme is an industry recognised Site Safety Plus (SSP) qualification designed to provide individuals with an introduction to environmental issues on construction sites.

This is a highly interactive training course allows the sub-contract chain to prove to major contractors that their environmental and sustainability knowledge is up to date.   

The one day course can accommodate up to 20 delegates per day.

Course Objectives

  • Discuss the environment and why it’s important
  • Discover industry environmental best practices
  • Explore environmental management systems, energy and resources
  • Identify and discuss pollution prevention and waste/water management
  • Importance of becoming a responsible contractor and/or maintaining and improving upon your standing as a responsible contractor
  • Define being a good neighbour – fundamentals of communication, sensitivity, archaeology, heritage of site, and the importance of compliance with statutory nuisance

Certification 

  • CITB Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme (SEATS) certificate valid for 5 years

Re-certification

  • Renewed every five years by re-attending the 1 day course.

Site Safety Plus (SSP)

The Site Safety Plus (SSP) suite of courses provides the building, civil engineering and allied industries with a range of courses for people seeking to develop skills in this area. Site Safety Plus (SSP) courses are designed to give everyone, from operative to senior manager, the skills they need to progress through the industry.

Courses range from the one-day Health and Safety Awareness (HSA) course to the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS). There are also refresher courses to ensure workers are keeping up to date with the latest practices and site safety techniques.
