QAB units are designed to be used in short-term applications in stable, non-water bearing ground conditions. Pre-assembled with adjustable struts, it can be rapidly installed into a pre-dug trench by lowering from ground level thus providing a safe and effective shoring shield without operatives having to enter an un-supported excavation.

Trench Boxes: Typical Installation Methodology

Groundforce Trench Boxes comprise a simple, robust, two-sided mechanical excavation support system. Each trench box is designed as a temporary earth retaining structure allowing the sides of the excavation to be cut vertical or near vertical. This quick and easy method ensures ground stability within a trench and helps minimise the excavation area to avoid damage to neighbouring structures and utilities in the ground. The 540 brace is a lightweight hydraulic brace designed for small excavations. Individual legs are assembled to produce a 4-sided telescopic hydraulic bracing frame which is used in conjunction with trench sheeting to support square or rectangular excavations from 1.5m up to 2.4m long. Legs are constructed from high yield steel sections and incorporate a single acting hydraulic ram. This means the legs can be expanded and pressurised hydraulically.
