Groundforce has been recognised for its many achievements within the construction industry at the 2016 Plant & Civil Engineer’s ‘Plant, Construction & Quarry’ Awards.
Company representatives were presented with the much coveted ‘High Achiever’ award, sponsored by Terex and Sleator Plant, at a glittering ceremony at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast.
Groundforce, part of the Vp plc group, has eight operating divisions offering hire and sale of specialist equipment to the construction, civil engineering and utility sectors. It provides solutions in the areas of shoring, piling, pipe testing, trenchless technology, temporary bridges, confined space safety and excavation safety training.
With 30 years of experience Groundforce has an enviable portfolio of products and services developed to meet the stringent safety requirements of today’s market, operating in Ireland, UK and mainland Europe.
It has been operating in Northern Ireland – at Lisburn in Co Down - for over 10 years and is the only specialist supplier in the Province offering a total solution in equipment hire; it also has depots in Portlaoise, Co. Laois, and Clane, Co. Kildare.
The awards judges noted that ‘this company consistently scores highly in customer satisfaction surveys, not least because of its innovative approach to its products and services.’
Among Groundforce’s many successes is the design and development of the SheetMaster which is a first in construction site safety, making the handling and installing of trench sheets quicker and safer. It has also set up an academy that offers the only training course of its kind in Ireland.
With 14 separate categories, the annual ‘Plant, Construction & Quarry’ awards, organised by the Hillsborough based publishers of Plant & Civil Engineer magazine, 4SM (NI) Ltd., is regarded as the premier event in the Plant, Construction and Quarry calendar, attracting entries, support and sponsorship from all the leading players in the industry.
