Leading construction services supplier Groundforce has appointed one of their former graduates to the post of general manager for their Stopper Specialist business.
Sam Woodcock joined Groundforce in 2016 as part of the company’s graduate recruitment programme where he worked in a rotating role across various departments including sales, operations, hire desk, finance, international, technical and asset management teams.
In 2018, Sam was promoted to Groundforce operations manager for Scotland and the north east. Managing sites across Scotland and the north east of England he was responsible for all operational personnel, regional profit and loss account ownership, cost budgets, and safe delivery of equipment and services to construction projects throughout the region.
In his new role as general manager for Stopper Specialists, his remit will include overhauling all operational processes to further increase quality of service, take a leading role in new product development, increase market share, and maintain business stability within the challenges of a COVD-impacted market.
He said of his appointment: “I’m excited to take on this opportunity within a key business of Groundforce. Stopper Specialists is entering a period which will see it maintain its market-leading position and strengthen it in key areas such as pressure testing, with the release of our internally developed PressureTest+ mobile application. We have already begun to make great strides in the initial months and I look forward to continuing to work with our great team.”
Stopper Specialists’ former general manager Warren Buckland, who has moved to the role of director for BITS (Groundforce Bridge, Ireland, Training and Stopper Specialists) said: “I have hugely enjoyed my time as general manager at Stopper Specialists and I look forward to supporting Sam and his team take the business to the next level.
